Court Directs Mumbai Police To File Progress Report On Probe Against Kangana Ranaut's Hateful Posts On Social Media
Kangana Ranaut, who joined Twitter last year, often posts controversial tweets that frequently land her in trouble. Now, PTI reports that on Friday, - a magistrate court in Mumbai asked the Mumbai Police to submit a progress report on the probe against Kangana Ranaut and her sister Rangoli Chandel for posting alleged hateful messages on social media. As per the report, it was in October last year that the magistrate court had asked the suburban Amboli police to start an inquiry into the complaint that was filed by a lawyer regarding Kangana’s alleged hateful messages.

It is being reported that back then, the Mumbai Police was asked to file a report by December 5. However, the police failed to file the report, post which the deadline was extended to January 5. However, the second deadline was missed as well. The court had then asked the Mumbai Police to file the report by February 5, but as of now, the Mumbai Police are yet to file the report on the probe. Despite several deadlines, the report hasn’t been filed yet.

PTI quoted the complainant advocate Ali Kashif Khan Deshmukh, saying, “They were given time till today (Feb 5) to file the report under section 202 of the CrPC. Since they have failed to do so, I asked court to issue process directly to the accused. Thus, the court called for progress report (from police on probe so far).”The matter will be further heard in court on March 4.
